Laneway Lineup 2014
I don’t know about you, but as of this morning I’m rolling up the bottoms of my skinny jeans and polishing the plastic lenses in my thick black frames, in anticipation of 2014’s Laneway Festival. Every year the festival seems to hit the sweet spot between acts large enough to sell tickets, and acts small enough so people will admit to buying the tickets. This year however it seems as if the mainstream has caught up with the good people at Laneway. Headlining the festival this year will be ARIA-award winners The Jezabels as well as much talked about Haim, who are stirring up a lot of hype, not to mention 16 year old Kiwi, Lorde, who rounds out the top three in the US Top 100 Billboard chart, just under Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry. This is not to say the festival wont do what its known for a bring out a whole bunch of up and coming acts such as, Mount Kimbie, King Krule, Chrvches and Warpaint. Honestly though, with the recent loss of Harvest Festival and the butchering of Homebake, I’m hoping promoters are right when they say they expect to sell out in an already crowded market, because with all the previous jokes aside its a good festival with a consistently good lineup and I’d like to see it stick around. Presale tickets go on sale Monday the 30th of September and general release goes out October the 3rd 9am. Full lineup, dates and venues below.
