I Know Leopard – She
Sydney-siders I Know Leopard are a four-piece making dreamy, ‘70s inspired pop tunes with an unintentional penchant for pulling heart strings.
A few years ago, the members of I Know Leopard left behind their picturesque one-pub town in the Adelaide hills. Upon arriving in Sydney, they were confronted not only with the prospect of broader horizons but also with the unmistakable feeling of displacement. With this as a central trope, She was born.
With nods to the likes of dream-pop purveyors, Beach House but with a local flavour, She is set against a heady, gaze-inspired soundscape, bringing to mind Jesus and Mary Chain at their most romantic and Brian Wilson at his most celestial.
Fronted by O’Loughlin’s lush and dynamic vocals, I Know Leopard is an eclectic blend of heady, dream pop textures with that of a more brooding and at times melancholic aesthetic.
She was recorded at Sydney’s iconic REC Studios at 301 Castlereagh Street (former EMI Studios) with young producer Craig Willson (Flume, New Navy, The Church). The band have performed alongside the likes Deep Sea Arcade, The Rubens, Goldfields and Miami Horror.
