Harvest Festival on the Brink of Cancellation
It seems that Harvest Festival, the brainchild of Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah, may not live to see its third birthday this coming November. Maddah has been quoted as saying that meagre ticket sales have made it “too risky” for backers to continue. Alongside poor ticket sales, a crowed market has also been said to be a factor with big line ups from both Big Day Out and Falls Festival; who have also added a Byron date this year. In an effort to not leave fans disappointed, Maddah has stated that headliners Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Goldfrapp and Franz Ferdinand will be touring in 2014 with Maddah’s company, as well as adding Primus and Mutemath to the Soundwave bill. However, negotiations with Massive Attack and Bon Iver’s Volcano Choir are still in progress.
